Understanding the SEO Score
Your SEO score is a percentage (0–100%) in a circular indicator on the Analysis tab. It starts at 100% and adjusts from findings:
- Errors: −5% each (max 50% deduction)
- Warnings: −2.5% each (max 30% deduction)
- Opportunities / improvements: −1% each (max 15% deduction)
- Good practices: +0.5% each (max 10% bonus)
Score ranges
- 80–100% (Green): Strong optimization with few issues
- 60–79% (Yellow): Good, with room to improve
- 0–59% (Red): Fix critical errors first, then warnings
Result categories
Possibilities (issues and opportunities)
Critical / Error
Fix first. Examples: missing title or meta description, all images missing alt, broken links (HTTP 404), hard GSC indexing blocks.
High / Warning
Address next. Examples: focus keyword not in title, content too short, no H1, some images missing alt, duplicate titles or meta descriptions, non-benign redirects.
Opportunity
Softer suggestions and many Search Console ideas. Examples: multiple H1 in page main, external images (non-allowlisted hosts), URL shorteners, low CTR in top 10 (with adaptive impression floor), long-tail or question queries. Sitewide opportunities (favicon, Twitter Cards, contact info) live under Sitewide possibilities, not once per URL.
On SEO Possibilities, Do next and dashboard counts emphasize Critical and High so opportunity noise does not bury urgent work.
Good
What you are already doing well (focus keyword in title, solid length, single H1, alt text, structured data, and similar).
How to fix common issues
Missing title or meta description
Set them in your supported SEO plugin. Aim for clear, unique copy with the focus keyword where it fits naturally.
Content too short
Expand with useful sections rather than padding. Roughly 300+ words is a common floor for longer articles; quality matters more than a fixed count.
No H1 / multiple H1
Ensure one clear H1 in the main content. Multiple H1 is an opportunity, not a high warning. Theme header chrome is stripped when full-page main content is analyzed.
Images missing alt text
Add descriptive alt in the media library or in content. Decorative images can use empty alt="".
Focus keyword not in title
Update the SEO title so the focus keyword appears naturally, ideally near the start.
Duplicate title or meta description
Make each page’s title and description unique.
Broken or redirected links
Broken means HTTP 404 in SEO Booster’s link checks. Update or remove those URLs. Benign same-site redirects (scheme, www, slash) and social share dialog URLs are ignored. For other redirects, point links at the final destination when you can.
External images
Treated as an opportunity (not a high warning). Common CDN and avatar hosts are allowlisted. Prefer hosting important images on your own site when practical.
No structured data / incomplete Open Graph
Add JSON-LD or complete Open Graph tags via your SEO plugin or theme. Twitter Cards are checked sitewide, not as a per-URL duplicate.
Prioritizing fixes
- Critical errors first
- High warnings next
- Opportunities when you have capacity (including GSC CTR and content ideas)
- Keep good practices intact
Use SEO Possibilities for the sitewide queue. On Pro, Mark as done / Ignore and Ignore this type help clear repeated soft findings.
Google Search Console insights
When GSC is connected:
Low CTR with good position
Position under 10, effective CTR under 2% (fraction), impressions above an adaptive floor. Improve titles and meta; consider Tools → GSC opportunities on Pro for batches.
High impressions, low clicks
High visibility, few clicks. Review SERP copy and intent match.
Keywords not in content
Queries that bring traffic but are missing from the page. Add them naturally or create dedicated content.
Keyword cannibalization
Several pages ranking for the same query. Consolidate or differentiate.
Long-tail, freshness, question queries
Opportunities to expand or refresh content. Declining page clicks also surface in Pro Content decay.
Reanalyzing after fixes
- Save your changes
- If content changed, use the yellow Reanalyze notice (or SEO review entire page)
- Review the updated score and remaining possibilities
Done and Ignore statuses on Pro stay cleared after re-analysis for those items. Types ignored via Ignore this type stay suppressed.
Best practices (without density scoring)
Content
- Write useful content with clear H1/H2 structure
- Use the focus keyword naturally in title, description, and body (no density percentage target)
- Prefer readable sentences and scannable paragraphs
Technical SEO
- Unique titles and meta descriptions
- Alt text on meaningful images
- Internal linking
- Structured data and canonicals
- Mobile viewport (sitewide check)
Links
- Fix real 404s; ignore expected social-share redirects
- Prefer descriptive anchors and healthy internal structure
Social
- Complete Open Graph per page
- Twitter Cards via sitewide configuration (theme or SEO plugin)
