Get started with SEO Booster Pro

SEO Booster Pro is easy to get started with and on this quick tutorial we will show you how to install the plugin, activate the license and authenticate your account with Google so the plugin can start gathering the data. You only need to go through the authentication process once.

1. Installing the plugin

After buying a license you will have gotten an email with your license key and download link.

AppSumo users: You have to go to your “Products” page on AppSumo after purchasing and use the “Activate” button to start the activation process to get the license key sent to your email. Scroll down for more detailed AppSumo instructions.

  • Download the zipped plugin file to your computer
  • Log in to your WordPress website
  • Go to “Plugins -> Add Plugin” and click the “Upload plugin”
  • Select the downloaded zip file and continue.
  • Once uploaded, activate the plugin.
  • You will be guided to the enter license key to activate the plugin

2. Authenticate with Google

Once you have your plugin installed and the license key entered you are ready to authenticate with your Google Search Console account. This is necessary for the plugin to get the details from their API.

You only need to go through the authentication process once.

You will be taken via seoboosterauth.com to Google to authenticate yourself and give permission to seoboosterauth.com to access the API on your behalf and download the data to your website.

Note: The website seoboosterauth.com only handles the temporary access tokens needed for the API, there is no other data stored on the server. All data is stored in encrypted form and also sent to your website encrypted.

First Google will ask you to either log in or choose which account you want to give access to.

Once you have chosen the account, Google will ask you to verify that we get basic information about you, such as your name and email address. Please click continue to verify.

The final step is to allow SEO Booster access to your Google Search Console data.

3. Gathering data from Google Search Console

Congratulations, you are almost done!

Final step is to choose which website to gather data from. When you return from Google to your website, the plugin will download a list of websites in your GSC account. The plugin will try to identify the correct website so all you have to do is click “Get keyword data”

If the plugin does not correctly identify the website you can change it from the dropdown.

The plugin will now begin to gather data via the Google Search Console API about your website. The speed of the process depends on how much traffic your website gets and how much information Google has to share. This can take a few minutes or longer.

p.s. The first process takes some time because the plugin gets 90 days (14 days for free users) of history. Going forward the plugin will automatically get new data every 24 hours. By getting only the most recent data this process can run in the background.
