Basic SEO Elements

These are the fundamental SEO elements that every page should have:

Title Tag

  • Missing Title – Checks if a title tag is present (error)
  • Focus Keyword in Title – Verifies if your focus keyword appears in the title (warning if missing, good if present)

Meta Description

  • Missing Meta Description – Checks if a meta description is set (error)
  • Focus Keyword in Meta Description – Verifies if your focus keyword appears in the meta description (warning if missing, good if present)

Focus Keyword

  • Focus Keyword Set – Checks if a focus keyword has been configured (low priority if missing, good if set)

Noindex Status

  • Noindex Check – Detects if the page is set to noindex (improvement notice) or indexable (good)

 

Content Quality

These tests evaluate the quality and structure of your content:

Content Length

  • Content Too Short – Warns if content is less than 300 words (warning)
  • Content Length Good – Confirms if content has appropriate length (good)
  • Content Very Long – Suggests breaking up content over 3000 words (improvement)

Heading Structure

  • No H1 Heading – Checks for the presence of an H1 tag (warning)
  • Multiple H1 Headings – Warns if more than one H1 is found (warning)
  • H1 Structure Good – Confirms proper H1 usage (good)
  • No H2 Headings – Suggests adding H2 headings for long content (improvement)
  • H2 Headings Present – Confirms H2 headings are used (good)

Keyword Density

  • Keyword Density Too Low – Warns if focus keyword appears less than 0.5% of the time (warning)
  • Keyword Density Too High – Warns if focus keyword appears more than 3% of the time (warning)
  • Keyword Density Good – Confirms appropriate keyword usage (good)

Readability

  • Sentence Length – Checks average sentence length and suggests shorter sentences if over 20 words (improvement)
  • Good Sentence Length – Confirms readable sentence length (good)

Content Uniqueness

  • Content Too Short (Duplicate Risk) – Warns if content is very short, which might be considered duplicate (warning)
  • Content Sufficient – Confirms content appears substantial and unique (good)

 

Images

These tests check image optimization and accessibility:

Image ALT Text

  • All Images Missing ALT – Critical error if all images lack alt text (error)
  • Some Images Missing ALT – Warning if some images are missing alt text (warning)
  • Images with Empty ALT – Warns about images with alt=”” attributes (warning)
  • All Images Have ALT – Confirms all images have meaningful alt text (good)

Broken Images

  • Broken Images – Detects images with broken URLs (error)
  • External Images – Warns about externally hosted images (warning)
  • Images Working – Confirms all images are working correctly (good)

Image Performance

  • Images Without Dimensions – Suggests adding width/height attributes to prevent layout shift (improvement)

Internal Links

  • No Internal Links – Suggests adding internal links for long content (improvement)
  • Internal Links Present – Confirms internal links are used (good)
  • Broken Internal Links – Detects broken internal links (error)
  • Redirected Internal Links – Warns about redirected internal links (warning)
  • Internal Links Working – Confirms all checked internal links work (good)

External Links

  • External Links Present – Confirms external links are used (good)
  • Suspicious Links – Warns about URL shorteners (warning)
  • Broken External Links – Detects broken external links (error)

These advanced tests require full page analysis and check technical SEO elements:

Structured Data

  • No Structured Data – Warns if no JSON-LD, microdata, or RDFa is found (warning)
  • Structured Data Present – Confirms structured data is implemented (good)

Open Graph Tags

  • No Open Graph Tags – Warns if essential OG tags are missing (warning)
  • Incomplete Open Graph – Lists missing OG tags (warning)
  • Complete Open Graph – Confirms all essential OG tags are present (good)

Twitter Cards

  • No Twitter Cards – Suggests adding Twitter Card meta tags (improvement)
  • Incomplete Twitter Cards – Lists missing Twitter Card tags (improvement)

Canonical URL

These tests help improve your content’s E-E-A-T signals:

Author Attribution

  • No Rel Author Links – Suggests adding rel=”author” links (improvement)
  • Rel Author Links Present – Confirms author attribution links found (good)

Contact Information

  • No Contact Info – Warns if no contact information is found on pages (warning)
  • Contact Info Present – Confirms contact information found (good)

 

Accessibility (Full Page Analysis Only)

These tests check basic accessibility features:

Image Accessibility

  • Missing Alt Text – Suggests adding alt attributes for accessibility (improvement)
  • Alt Text OK – Confirms all images have alt text (good)

Form Accessibility

  • Missing Form Labels – Suggests adding labels or aria-label attributes (improvement)
  • Form Accessibility OK – Confirms form inputs have proper labels (good)

 

Content Readability (Full Page Analysis Only)

These tests evaluate content readability:

Sentence Structure

  • Sentence Length Good – Confirms good sentence length (good)
  • Sentence Length Moderate – Suggests shortening some sentences (improvement)
  • Sentence Length Long – Suggests breaking up long sentences (improvement)

 

Duplicate Content Detection

These tests check for duplicate content across your site:

Duplicate Titles

  • Duplicate Title – Warns if the same SEO title is used on other pages (warning)
  • Unique Title – Confirms title is unique across your site (good)

Duplicate Meta Descriptions

  • Duplicate Meta Description – Warns if the same meta description is used on other pages (warning)
  • Unique Meta Description – Confirms meta description is unique across your site (good)

 

Google Search Console Integration

If you have Google Search Console connected, these additional tests are performed:

GSC Status

  • GSC Connection Status – Checks if GSC is connected and data is available

GSC-Based SEO Opportunities

  • Low CTR with Good Position – Identifies keywords ranking well but getting few clicks
  • High Impressions, Low Clicks – Finds keywords with high visibility but low engagement
  • Keywords Not in Content – Detects keywords bringing traffic that aren’t in your content
  • Keyword Cannibalization – Identifies multiple pages competing for the same keywords
  • Long-tail Opportunities – Finds long-tail keyword opportunities
  • Content Freshness – Suggests updating content based on trending keywords
  • Question Queries – Identifies question-based search queries you could target

 

Understanding Test Results

Each test result is categorized by severity:

Error (Critical)

Critical issues that need immediate attention. These significantly impact your SEO score.

Warning

Important issues that should be addressed. These have a moderate impact on your SEO score.

Improvement (Low Priority)

Suggestions for optimization. These have a minor impact on your SEO score but can improve overall performance.

Good

Positive SEO elements that are properly implemented. These contribute positively to your SEO score.

 

Full Page Analysis vs. Basic Analysis

Some tests require full page analysis to work properly. When you click “SEO review entire page”, the system:

  • Downloads the complete rendered page (including widgets, footer, and theme elements)
  • Runs all basic tests plus advanced technical SEO tests
  • Checks for structured data, social media tags, and other full-page elements
  • Validates links more accurately
  • Performs accessibility checks

Basic analysis (without full page download) still performs most tests but may miss elements added by your theme or plugins.
